As told by Derrick. In 1986 while working at a mission in Dundee, Natal God spoke to me about starting a similar sort of work back in Port Elizabeth, and working specifically into the Walmer Township.
Mahyeno Mission Dundee Only 9 years later in 1995, did I stop running my handyman business and started taking in the drug addicts and alcoholics from the streets. Originally we called the mission "Yerushalayim Ministries", the name was chosen as the last verse in Ezekial says that Jerusalem was called this, God is present, God is here
We started off in our own home, God spoke to me though what he said to Moses "what is in his hand," and God used what was in his hand.
We also started collecting food for Youth for Christ Street Children's Shelter a year before this and there was such a large surplus that we started taking the excess into the Walmer Township. God has supplied in an amazing way through this collection of food, we have driven in a bakkie or two of food per day over the past 12 years, supplying to people who were in desperate need of food we eventually supplied food to 52 organizations.
